Generic antiseizure medications (ASMs) are considerably more affordable than brand-name alternatives and can help lower overall healthcare costs. While some contrasting results have emerged, real-world evidence shows that brand-to-generic switching is generally effective and well-tolerated, with comparable rates of adverse events. Although earlier literature reviews stated that the bioequivalence of branded and generic drugs had not been proven, randomized controlled trials evaluating this issue are now available [3,4].
